MATT HILL
Matt Hill is a globally recognized conservation leader and social entrepreneur who founded and scaled One Tree Planted into one of the fastest-growing international reforestation nonprofits in the world. In under a decade, he mobilized millions of donors to plant over 100 million native, biodiverse trees worldwide, building a mission-driven organization surpassing $100 million in annual impact and democratizing climate action through the one-dollar-one-tree model.
Today, Matt leads the Redwood Forest Foundation, stewarding and restoring 50,000 acres of California redwood forests under FSC-certified management, with expansion to 57,000 acres underway. This landscape includes thousands of old-growth trees and represents the largest working community forest on the West Coast, the third-largest in North America, California’s largest conservation easement, and the state’s largest nature-based carbon removal project.
He is now leading the charge to unite ancient ecological wisdom with cutting-edge technology to accelerate the restoration of these redwood forests and help ensure they thrive for generations to come.
